Happy
Birthday,
Alina
My Begum. My favourite person. My whole heart.
My Alina, my Begum β happy birthday. Today isn't just another date on the calendar, it's the day the world got a little brighter, because it got you in it. I hope you know how deeply you are loved, admired, and appreciated β not just today, but every single day I get to call you mine.
You carry our home, our laughter, and my heart with so much grace. I don't say it enough, but I notice everything β the way you take care of everyone around you before yourself, the way you keep showing up with kindness even on your hardest days. I see it all, and I'm endlessly proud of you.
This year, I want you to chase everything you've been quietly hoping for. And speaking of new beginnings β
Watching you step into this new chapter fills me with so much pride. You worked for this, you earned this, and you deserve every good thing coming your way. May this job bring you growth, respect, kind people, and the confidence to know you belong exactly where you're headed. I'll be cheering for you on the hard days and celebrating with you on the good ones β always in your corner.
Here's to another year of us β more mornings, more silly arguments that end in laughing, more dreams we build quietly together. I love you more than these words can hold.
I owe you an honest apology
Alina, before this day becomes about celebration, I need it to hold a little honesty too. I'm sorry for smoking β for the promises I broke around it, and for not taking your worry about my health as seriously as I should have. You've asked me to stop, and you were right to.
And I'm sorry for the lies β the small ones I told myself didn't matter, and the ones that hurt more than I let myself admit. You deserve a husband who is fully honest with you, always, even when the truth is uncomfortable. I haven't always been that, and I'm sorry.
"I'm not asking to be forgiven today β just believe that I'm trying to be better, for you and for us."
Everything I wish for you this year
Small hopes and big ones, all wrapped up for the year ahead.
May this new job bring you growth, confidence and people who see your worth the way I always have.
May you have more peace, more rest, and fewer things weighing on your heart than the year before.
May every dream you've quietly held onto find its way to you, one by one.
May our home always be your safest, softest place to land, no matter how the world treats you outside it.
May you laugh more than you worry, and may I be the reason for at least a little of that laughter.
May you never doubt, for a single second, how loved you are β by me, and everyone lucky enough to know you.
A few of my favourite memories
Every one of these is a small proof that we're building something beautiful.

Happy Birthday, my Alina.
Here's to you β today, this year, and every year I get to love you.
