I owe you an honest apology
Alina, before this day becomes about celebration, I need it to hold a little honesty too. I'm sorry for smoking — for the promises I broke around it, and for not taking your worry about my health as seriously as I should have. You've asked me to stop, and you were right to.
And I'm sorry for the lies — the small ones I told myself didn't matter, and the ones that hurt more than I let myself admit. You deserve a husband who is fully honest with you, always, even when the truth is uncomfortable. I haven't always been that, and I'm sorry.
